Life’s Mission

Mission

In order to grow in myself and in love with a woman that has grown roots within me and I in her. I dedicate my time to the celebration of her and I, despite our distance in time and space. Despite the many goals, I endeavor to achieve. Be it notwithstanding that I endeavor along with my goals the celebration of our loves collectively. To achieve in her and I a unity of one, out of us two become one. In doing so and because of this unity, the richness of our lives and the quality of our lives may grow; blooming from our unity only happiness; the celebration of our achievements and our growth and our lives making an inseparable bond of trust, which no mistake or broken promises can undo. A friendship with strong roots deeply rooted in solid rock.

Because this is the beginning, we are just at the start you and I. We stand on the edge of a cliff unsure, but in time, we will be unafraid. The completion of our goals, the life achievements we must yet meet, because of each other we will rise above them, with a check marked finished. And once done, hands held tight eyes wide open, naked and unafraid, on wings we will soar from the heights of our fear into the blue skies of honesty and truth. Our skin tanned with sunrays, our faults so illuminated, understood and loved that we can only accept the beauty of the truth that we are one.

My mission is simple; understand how we can obtain this grand vision of our relationship. I must finish my goals here in Normal, while I manifest this vision into reality. The sapling we planted in each other, while premature nevertheless, withstood a cold winter, hail and wind, pollution and scum. Despite all that, our family tree is a small adolescent, a trunk only an inch wide at the base. We will however groom our tree, with sun, cleansing showers of rain, and love. Our family tree will grow into a giant redwood, roots so deep. Time is on our side, and that is all we need. Time to grow, and this is the time of our lives, and we are growing. I love you.

House Passes Tax Bill Senate not Likely to Follow

Republicans passed a tax bill that cuts social security payroll taxes, an extension of an existing cut in social security payroll tax, which is set to expire at the end of this year. A measure that keeps social security payroll tax at 4.2 percent, if this bill goes un-passed by congress the 4.2 percent provision will end increasing Social security payroll taxes to 6.2 percent, as they were before the passage of the tax provision set to expire.  this is a measure that republican supporters are happy about. saving american families money, and inching closer to justifying the privatization of Social Security.

Another provision of the house version of the bill is extended long-term unemployment benefits, which are also set to expire at the end of this year. This is obviously a compliance tool for Democratic support. Gaining congressional passage, by appealing to the demands of our Democratic representatives.  Another favorable measure is the end of cuts in doctor medicare reimbursement payments. Essentially keeping elderly patients in the care of doctors who participate in the medicare program.

Other provisions in the bill force the president and congress to legislate and decide on the Keystone XL Pipeline project. This provision is holding up the passage of this bill in the senate among other anti democratic provisions.  republicans are beating the pipe line drum, as a private sector victory that mends the recession making jobs and bringing us closer to energy independence. Democrats, see this as divisive and not in keeping with the merits of the bill. Forcing the passage of ill advised, misguided, highly contested political controversies in a bill that must be passed.

This is a Republican attempt to back democrats into a corner, demanding they pass this bill on the grounds of the provisions they want and not the ones they do not want. Asking them to overlook the rest of the package, which constituents do not want. Majority senate Leader Harry Reid, promised the bill will not pass the senate. President Obama also plans on vetoing this bill, in the off chance that it will pass.

Partisan games slow the legislative process, the media plays a role in crafting our feelings about this process.  The truth is, polarization of our congress causes stagnation. Issues of national concern can not be solved without real cooperation. On election day change the demographic of congress for the better.

President cashes in, electorally, on nearly a decades old plan, the media neglected to shine light on.

President Obama announces the full withdrawal of troops from Iraq. A time table that was outlined by former president Bush. while our present executive uses this as a political strategy during reelection, the facts are that since March 20 2003, the american defense department, republican and democratic leadership, and Washington insiders knew that Dec 31 2011 was the planned withdrawal date.

Even as Obama was campaigning, even when he spoke in august of the fulfillment of campaign promises, he knew that this was a scheduled event. The democratic party leadership, and the president himself, bankrolled on the majority of the public being uniformed. In a way, this is hard evidence for the illusion of choice in our pseudo democracy. The two party system, made of leadership and organizing of suspected opposites sleeping together in the oval office.

Imagine your campaigning as a peace loving democrat wouldn’t it be nice to promises to end the war knowing full well that the war is planned to end, and once it does you parade around like you’ve accomplished something, that is brilliant electoral politics. Secondly, consider the fact that both parties leadership knew of this. Now ask yourself why republicans didn’t run on the same promises? The truth is that our consent is manufactured.

An illegal war is coming to an end, just as planned. Meanwhile at home, american youth can watch ‘Bomb Patrol Afganistan’ on cable television. I guess add revenue is one way to pay for the recessive consequences of a war effort without increased taxation. Why didn’t the mass, main stream media jump all over this? why didn’t we hear conservative talking heads ripping Obama a new one during the campaign, proving that, No he is not going to end the war the war is planned to end near the end of his first term. that surely would have lost him votes, calling out one of his biggest platforms.

This not being mentioned furthers my point, our consent is manufactured. Well, we may now have our proxy government installed in a dessert country rich with oil, lets bring the spoils of war home. Oil refined to gasoline and may never an american car be on empty. Bring it by boat across sea, in pipe across miles after mile. hell the more we burn the warmer it gets, now we can swim any day in November.

We can speculate on several outcomes to the 2008 election for good or bad, had the public been aware of the end date of operations in Iraq, perhaps certain campaign tactics wouldn’t have been employable. One last thought to leave you with, maybe if our two party choices hadn’t been together planning an Obama victory, the republicans may have put forth a real efforts, used real candidates, and run a real campaign.

Our consent is Manufactured, the less we know the better it is to deceive us into consent. Stay in the know. help out in spreading truth around your local community. knowledge is dependent on teachers, so teach!

Essay to the School of Communication

The required essay for acceptance to the School of Communications, I haven’t heard from them yet, But I’ll surely post the outcome soon.

Freedom of the press, a guaranteed right provided by governments derived from the people. Without the press, Impartiality, honesty and integrity would not exist in media. Media for that matter might not even exist. Journalism and the press are fundamental of a free society. The rule of law, government and its agents build the foundation for free society. A key in making future leaders is not to exclude these fundamentals. Integrity and truth are at stake. Political Science and Communications together can build a more just world. A world where money spent is not free speech, one not so inundated with mud splattering smear campaigns. A more honest world the kind we all want to live in.

When I completed my High School Equivalency in 2004, having only been out of high school a few months I never would have thought I would have lived the last two years the way I did, nor be on the dawn of a future so bright. It is a testament to my ability to achieve that I have come this far. Before reenrollment to junior college in 2009, I was a flounder working odd jobs, naïve, uneducated, I took that time to find direction. Many wonder the halls of colleges at younger ages not knowing what they are doing or where they are going. Fortunately, for me I have had time to learn distinct lessons that others still yet to, defining lessons that have encouraged my maturity and discipline.

In the last two years one of my most defining moments was attending teacher union strikes in Madison, Wisconsin, sitting in the state capital building the energy of democracy a buzz all around me. I came home that February 2011 driven. I took my last year at Junior college by the horns. Writing, investigating, reporting, and producing a once a week hour long radio news broadcast program entitled: “Solidarity Journal”, dedicated to political news and views outside of mainstream spin, Along with a local focus on Peoria’s underserved coverage; labor, small business, art, and environmental politics. All while I earned an associate’s degree.

Initially during my 2011 spring semester as I looked for schools I applied to Illinois State, I earned a place in the School of Politics and Government. I am thrilled to be here and grateful for the privilege, I do not take it for granted. The university is a platform to exhibit my abilities, proving to the real world my employability. I intend to be the best. The challenges of a double major in Political Science and Journalism is just the pressure that will bring out the best in me. The unity of politics and press in the shaping of democracy is my passion.

It is the fifth week of the semester, since I arrived I have breathed it all in. I applied and obtained a seat on two student government boards. Student grievance board and mandatory student fee review board. I am here to achieve, I have made my mistakes, this is not the time to relive them it is the time to implement the lessons learned by them, putting myself on display in a chance to exemplify my abilities in the fields of Political Science and News and editorial Journalism. I would like a career in Journalism or freelance writing.  A career that gives me an opportunity to participate in democracy in a direct way more than voting alone; to be an active voice expressing my civil right by seizing my opportunity to speak with honesty as a vital member of a free press.

Due Process

My day has ended. I went through with everything I had to do. I attended what was required of me. my thoughts can be calmed. Yet I’m not calm, I’m not asleep. I’m wide awake watching alternative news, filling my head with death penalty tragedies, Oil spill notifications and general malice executed by the evil capitalists. Images that increase my heart rate, showing me the direct democratic action of citizens in countries abroad, masked, rioting in the streets demanding education for all, respect and civil rights. Meanwhile hundreds of my fellow ISU students wouldn’t even consider to deny the debt that lays before us. The debt of our government and our society, the debt of banks and loans, homes and automobiles,  we are willing to accept this weight upon our backs. As we trudge through our days and nights sedate by the fact that we can surf television, sporting games, comatose commercials leave us drooling enviously over the latest thing. Franticly searching for our next fix, we accept mind numbing jobs and back breaking work. These methods of control are only more emphasized once we start our families. Producing offspring opens us to an entirely new market plan. We become ever more faithful customers. A new set of values has us inline, in competition and incomplete. After 60 or so years we might get a chance to relax. We’ll try to take it with us. Thought that would prove for not. Dust we were born and dust we will return. What we fail to understand is that Due Process under the law protects us all from discrimination. We will all be reckoned with our selves, weather we saw through past the veal or not. Know thyself, the truth will set you free. Being a part of the universe, the cosmic conciseness, the self-awareness of the cosmos, that is our role we are those that rise in the morning and ask why, how. It is our dream that we are playing out. This collection of thoughts sharing, growing, disagreeing, Warring, Loving, how far will we go?

Roads stretch on for miles.

I should be studying for a science class instead; I am up late, my mind just buzzing. Thoughts and plans race, dead ends and expansive highways stretch on forever. Thoughts ever present, bits of information soaring onward for eternity or stopping short at the cul-de-sac in time. At present, I am engaged with the poetic wonder of what to do. Tomorrow I attend a group meeting with the School of Communications at ISU. Where I’ll be instructed on how to apply to my second major of News Editorial Journalism. That will give me a grand total of two Majors, Political Science and Journalism. Adding about a year in all conservative estimates to my time at University, already, being twenty five, I have some reservations. Contemplative what if’s, addressing my lake of income, and delayed earning potential. The lazy way out, just finish this political science in 3 semesters and call it a day. Then I’m struck with the desire for great potential and grandiose ideas of success. Me, a writer journalist following the story around until my mid forties when I write a-tell all book, entitled: “live from Washington”, or something trendy like that. Always going back and forth on what to do, examining the “what if’s” of both outcomes; lost in a sea of my own imagined future for myself and the crushing waves of reality that reminds me I have no money. So tomorrow brings decision time, make me or break me time. Tomorrow I’ll be so inclined to decide what future I’ll dream up for myself. Sixty years worth of highway is just ahead, what condition it’s in will be mine to decide.
